Memorial Weekend

We had a really great weekend. We dog sat for mom and dad while they were at my cousin's wedding in Oklahoma. Which we were really bummed we missed, but we had a lot of fun with all the pups. Here's a picture of Roxanna in Orey's bed. Such a funny dog.

Friday we grilled out at the lake again and met some nice people that let Flo have a free for all on their keg. Then on Saturday we were again pool rats during the day and partiers at night. We ended the night at a party that had a rib cook off. Ribs are another one of Kaley's favorites. As you can see.

Memorial day Flo and Kaley went on a hike while Mom, Lily and I walked the neighborhood. Here's a picture of Kaley on her hike. haha

The rest of our day we spent at the pool where we grilled some hot dogs and hung out with Kimberly, Stefanie and our neighbors. They have a 5 year old boy who Kaley is really good friends with. Kaley had a blast swimming and Lily just chilled with mommy pool side.

Hope everyone had a fabulous holiday. The Gonzalez family want to thank the brave men and women who serve our great country. We are always praying for them and their families. Happy Memorial day.

Preschool Graduate

Our little Boo graduated from Preschool today, and she didn't pick her nose through the entire ceremony. We were a little worried because last preschool performance she picked her nose and ate it. When asked about it later she didn't even realize she had done it until we showed her the video. A little scary that she picks her nose without consciously knowing it. Anyways this time she did wonderful.

They sang several songs with each kid singing their own solo. See Kaley's solo below.

I'm so proud of my boo. After the ceremony we talked to her teacher and she said Kaley is fully ready for Kindergarten and that she could have left the classroom and let Kaley take over. Meaning Kaley knows she's in charge. During the ceremony Kaley made sure that all the kid's tassles were on the right side, and if they weren't she made sure to fix them. Mom says I was the same way.

Before we know it we will be at her High School graduation. Ahh scary.
After graduation all the families went to Chick Fil A, but when Kaley found out Ricki and Grandma didn't want Chick she decided she would rather have her favorite, fajitas. So, we all went to Maudis Milagro and with a big fajita in hand Kaley exclaimed, "this is the best day of my life!!"

Idol Confessions

I'm such a huge fan of music that I had to blog about last night's Idol. There were several strange moments in the finale,(ie. Pants on the ground and Dane Cook) but there were also some performances and moments worth talking about.

So Lee takes the cake. I have to say this is the first season of American Idol that I probably fast-forwarded through 99.9% of it. I liked both contestants, just wasn't crazy about either. However, Lee Dewyze's anticipation anxiety and his "Oh my God" moment was so worth every bit. He's no Carry Underwood or even Kelly Clarkson, but it was still a good ending to a pretty boring season.

I do have to admit I had a bit of a freak out when my new favorite person, Bret Michaels appeared with Casey James to sing "Every Rose Has a Thorn." I didn't really know much about Bret (sorry didn't watch "Rock of Love," but now I kind of wish I did) until I watched him on The Apprentice and saw what a good guy he is. Was never a huge fan of Casey's either, but he went up a notch in my book after last night. Thought this performance was better than any other he had on Idol. I looked up Bret's schedule and he will be in Austin in June at a Bikers Rally. Don't think I'm hard enough to go to that. Maybe next time Bret.

My favorite part of the night has to be when Ryan announced the winner. Crystal was so calm and collected while Seacrest slowly and painfully looked at the winner (even though he knows who it is before the show). Lee, however, was freaking out. Like I said anticipation anxiety. So worth the entire season. I was cracking up at the former paint sales man's fidgety hands and the look on his face like he was going to hurl on Seacrest at any moment. Then it all ended with Seacrest making him sing while he hugs everyone in the theater. Love it. Had to blog it.

Hangin' Pool Side

Finally the weekend weather was nice enough for us to go to the pool. Lily girl tested out her new float and Kaley her new flippers. Lily didn't seem too amazed by the water. She had fun chillin in her float.

I often take pictures of Lily that remind me of pictures I have of Kaley. This is one of them.

The pool did however wear her out.

Here's another. Notice the skin color difference. haha. My lil white girl and my lil Mexican. Love it!

The next day at the pool was like Spring Break in Cancun (kiddy style). There were people everywhere. Kids dancing on tables, taking soda shots, stuffing their faces with pizza. It was insane. Parents even brought their margarita machines and coolers of beer. (We really need to meet those people.)
Our pool trip this time was cut short because some kid puked in the pool. They made everyone get out. I thought this was funny because we are already pretty much swimming in pee. What's a little puke going to do? I think the lifeguards just wanted to go home early. You know I was thinking today, pool bathrooms have got to be the least used public bathrooms. I know none of us have used them. eww!

And my Lil and me.

A Half Naked Picnic

This is the beautiful view from the Seiner Ranch lake park. We went here last night to have a dinner picnic by the water.
We packed up our Costco Take and Bake Pizza, a salad and some cold drinks and headed to the end of our neighborhood for a good ol' fashion family picnic. Well, when we got there Flo took the first load in and walks back to me and says,"They have a photo shoot going on down there by the lake, but I didn't look." Not knowing what kind of photo shoot I said, "Oh cool."

This is what kind of photo shoot it was. This is the reason Flo quickly said he didn't look. haha. Yes the whole time during our wonderful family picnic a half naked woman was scantily posing for the camera by the lake, and she was not the only hazard. They also had a huge 100 pound plus male Pit Bull running around. And to top things off boaters kept driving by yelling things like, "I love your body. You are so HOT. Do you believe in love at first sight?" and other crude remarks at the woman.
Thank God Kaley thought nothing of it. When she asked if she could go swimming in the lake we pointed out the signs that said "No Swimming," and she said, "then why is that girl down there in her bikina?" (Not a misspelling that is actually how she said bikini.)

Overall it ended up being a pretty nice and interesting dinner. The lake is really pretty right now. Made us wish we had a boat. Of course before we left we made sure to put fliers to our church on all the photo shoot crew member's cars. The more the merrier.

Kaley Flashback

The other day Kaley and I were looking at her baby pictures because Kaley girl loves to look at pictures of herself. haha. I thought I would share some of my favorites. Kaley was a very different baby than Lily. She was always smiling just like this picture and was all over the place. It's funny how when they get older they still have the same personality they did as a baby. She is still always smiling and all over the place.

Love this video. We have been watching it over and over. It cracks me up how she says pickle. I wish they could talk like that for longer. She was so cute, still is.

Like I said, always smiling. I used to take her outside to play in the grass and feel the different textures. She loved it. Now when she goes outside she looks for bugs. Never thought having girls I would have to say, "no bugs or worms in the house or the car." Kaley argued with me the other day that she was 2 in this picture because she has teeth. Sure Kaley whatever you say. (How I respond to most of what she says.)

This is at Lupe Tortillas in Houston. Love this pic. Not just because Kaley looks cute, but because Flo looks HOT! Such a good Daddy!

Loved when her hair was this length. So cute.

Potty training K was not easy, but I know it could have been worse. Not looking forward to it with Lil. Potty training is nastier than changing diapers. Even nastier than runny yellow poo diapers.

My silly Boo now!

So that's my litte Kaley flashback. We have had a lot of fun looking at her old pictures. She was such a cute little girl. I can't believe she is about to be in Kindergarten. Even though she tells me she is not a baby anymore, she will always be my baby.

Prom

So Flo and I had a hot date last night at the Westlake High School Prom. Flo thought it would be a good idea to (chap)eron prom this year and asked if I wanted to go. Of course I said, "Heck yea." I never pass up an evening away from the kids even if it's for a High School Prom. I'm there. I was actually pretty excited about it. We of course had to take a cheesy prom pic. Notice Flo hunching over like a true Prom picture. Yes, that is the dress that Lily pooed all over, but Mom and I found another one. I just loved the dress so much it made me sick that she had ruined it.

We started the night at Piranhas Sushi bar where we ate some of the best sushi in Austin. The roll with the Jalapeno was called the Latino. Flo loved the name so much we had to get it. (He is so proud of his Latino-ness. Even though he is really a country boy. ) So so yum. We recommend Piranhas.
Prom was cool. We were in charge of the Casino area, and we just laughed at all the crazy High school kids. I enjoyed looking at all the girl's dresses. Some were really cute, but some were hideous. One girl was on crutches and it reminded me of Bella except her date wasn't a Hot Vampire. Then I just felt sorry for her. Poor thing.
We left the prom at about 11pm and then went out to hunt for a good piece of chocolate cake, and boy did we find it. Right next to Piranhas is Max's Wine bar and we ordered the Half and Half. It's the Big Ass Brownie (That's what it's really called.) and bread pudding with two scoops of ice cream. Yum Yum!! Thanks to Mom, Dad and Ricki for babysitting our girls. We had a good night out.

Lily Teethes

Lilliana Grace has begun her teething experience. It just seems wrong that they finally grow out of their newborn fussiness and then they begin teething. She is getting a little fussy and slobbering all over us and herself like a Bull Mastiff. (Not offense to Vito). She has also become very fond of her fist lately. She has always enjoyed her hand, but lately since she is teething she prefers it over the passy. In fact she gets darn right mad if you even suggest it. I took some video of this, but I'm having a hard time uploading it. It must be too large. So here is some video of her going to town on her vibrating teether.

Happy Birthday to my Aunt Lisa. I also have an update: My Pretty People Discrimination (PPD) problem has been taken care of. I've been praying for it for awhile now, and God has taken care of it in a pretty amazing way.

"But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you." (Matthew 5:44)

Happy Mother's Day

Our Mother's Day started on Friday at Kaley's school. They held a Mother's Day Ice cream party. Right up my alley. Mom and I had ice cream with Kaley and her class, and I received a wonderful card with Kaley's picture on it. The ice cream, however, was not the best part about this day. The best part ended with mom puking in Kaley's lunch box. Let me explain: Before we left for the ice cream party Mom asked if she could have one of my pain pills from my C-section because she was having a lot of back pain. Well, I should have remembered that pain pills make mom very sick. So, on the way home from the party mom started getting very nauseous. Of course every time I pulled over to let her hurl she would feel better. And that's how it ended up in Kaley's lunchbox. Now if Kaley ever misses her Grandma at school she just takes a big whiff of her lunchbox.

On Sunday we started off by going to church. Since it was Mother's Day I dressed my babies in my new favorite color. This was the best picture I could get of them together. We had a wonderful morning at church volunteering. I am the Preschool Coordinator and Flo is an Usher. After church we met Mom, Dad and Jake at Iron Cactus for a delicious brunch where we all ate way too much, and Kaley ate twice as much as any of us. All you can eat Fajitas is dangerous for the K girl.

I just want to say thank you to all the wonderful Mommas in my life that have been such good examples and inspirations to me as a Mommy. You are all so loved and appreciated.

Cinco De Mayo

We had an eventful Cinco De Mayo here in the Gonzalez house. First off my little Lil turned 3 months today. I can't believe it's already been 3 months. She is smiling a lot and gets very excited when you pick her up. She loves her baths and still loves the Booby! She is sleeping 6 hours at night and eats about every 2 hours during the day. She has been such a dream and an answer to our prayers.

Next, we finally took Dixie up on her offer and joined her for lunch. Since it was Cinco De Mayo they were having Mexican food. I was a little worried about the food because last week Meatloaf was on the menu. I'm not a picky eater, but nursing home meatloaf does not sound like something I would want to try. Surprisingly the food was good. A little bland, but nothing a little Cholula couldn't fix. (I carry a bottle around in my purse just in case I have bland nursing home food for lunch).

Dixie was up to her usual self. Couldn't hear what we were saying and forgetting that we were eating with her on the way to the cafeteria. My favorite thing about Dixie is when she sees Lily. She kept looking up from her plate and saying, "Ohh look at that baby. Isn't she cute." Like it was the first time she had ever seen her. To her it probably was.

When we arrived to the nursing home Dixie was sitting next to a wonderfully entertaining woman named, Jean. Mom described her as a grumpy lady that tried to contain herself while we were there. haha. For example: Jean told us she wasn't hungry, but during lunch she kept complaining about them not getting her food out quick enough. Jean's memory was also fabulously escaping her. I know this because about every 3 minutes she would say, "That's a cute baby. How old is she?" Then she would say, "I have 6 of those, but they are grown now." Every time she told us how many children she had the number was different. Like I said, fabulously escaping her.

Lastly, The Gonzalez's took Kaley to her Elementary to register for Kindergarten next year. First off I can't believe she is going to be in Kindergarten. Crazy!!
When we walked in the door the ladies asked us what our girls names were. Kaley told them her name and her sister's name. One of the ladies complemented the names and said her Mommy and Daddy picked cute names. Kaley then went on telling them that when she was born it was only Mommy and her and that Daddy wasn't there. haha Can we say, embarrassing. She's a tell all kind of girl.
I wish I could go to this school. There were 5 desktop Mac computers in every classroom and traveling Mac laptops for every grade. Kids these days! Happy Cinco De Mayo!!

"Hey Ice Cream Truck!"

Check out this ice cream truck! Amazing.

Last week Flo heard the ice cream truck singing down the street and darted out the door. I had no idea what was going on. Him and Kaley even drove around the neighborhood looking for him. In the end they missed the truck, and Kaley was pretty bummed. To say the least.

So, yesterday they heard the truck while jumping on the trampoline. This time they both darted out the door. I yelled to them, "You already had ice cream today." (They got a free shake at Chick Fil A).
Flo yells back, "we'll share." Like that makes it any better.
I actually started running with them until Flo said, "You gonna stay with her." At first I thought to myself, "Who? Orey? She's fine." Then I remembered the sleeping baby inside. Duh! She's just so good that sometimes you can forget she's even there. When they finally caught the truck he was all the way at the end of the street. Notice Kaley has no shoes on.

Ice cream trucks have come a long way since I was a kid. I think the ones in our neighborhood growing up sold more than just ice cream. If you know what I mean.
Kids have it so good these days. Not only did it have all the classic ice cream truck ice cream, but it also had do-it-yourself snow cones. Kaley of course got every flavor.

Does it look like she shared?. See you soon Ice cream man. I know our street name implies not to do so, but next time go a little slower down Rush Creek Ln.

Bow-diction

So I have this addiction or maybe it's an obsession, but I just love bows. I call it a Bow-diction. At first I thought God was getting a laugh out of giving me girls because he clearly knows that I cannot fix hair. But instead he was blessing me with girls, so I could experience the joy of bows.
Kaley goes to school every morning looking like her Daddy fixed her hair, but add a bow and she just looks like a cute girl with a huge bow that perfectly matches her outfit. They can defiantly dress up a soccer uniform or perfect a dress. If I see bows I have to buy at least one for each girl. Between my two girls we have 3 bow hangers and about 40 bows, plus tons of other hair accessories. Most of them Grandma made. She's an excellent bow maker.
I recently met a lady in Austin that makes these wonderful bows that Kaley and Lily are wearing. I believe when I saw her table at a garage sale this weekend I yelled "They have BOWS!!"
When it comes to bows, I say the bigger and brighter the better and these ladies do just that. Check them out at: imperfectcrafters.com

But I guess Bow-diction runs in the family.

Brian and Brady Visit

This weekend Brian and Brady came to Austin to visit the Austin Reeves and Gonzalez crew. Kristin had to stay back in Nacogdoches to finish up some studying before finals. She was very missed.
We were so blessed to have the two babies together. They are both so perfect. You hardly heard a peep out of either of them. Unless someone is hungry.
Brady is losing his hair, but he is very precious. Especially when you can get him to smile. He's about twice the size of Lily and fits some 9 month clothes and his head probably weighs half his body weight. Lily is still in 0-3. My little petite girl.
It was a lot of fun watching Brian take care of his little man without his momma around. He is an excellent Daddy, and I am so proud of him.
On Saturday Flo and Brian played golf while Mom, Dad, Kaley, Lily, Braden and I went to a carnival and Costco. (We love going to Costco just for fun). Kaley had fun riding rides and hunting for Costco samples. You should have seen us in Costco. Let me just give you a visual: Dad was in the head of the line pushing a flat bed, Mom behind him with a basket, then Kaley pushing Brady's stroller and I as the caboose pushing Lily's stroller. We were a sight to see. Luckily the babies slept the whole time. Flo adds that he whipped Brian in golf and shot a birdie on the first hole. To see more pictures from this weekend go to Bradenlilly.shutterfly.com.
