Halloween 2010

Our Halloween began on Friday morning when Flo got to go to Kaley's school and carve a pumpkin with her class. They both had a lot of fun and Kaley was very excited to have her Daddy at her school.

She loves her daddy! I think she kind of looks like him in this picture.


Of course she made a Vampire pumpkin.


During the day on Sunday Kaley, Grant (neighbor boy) and I went to the neighborhood Halloween festival. It was really lame until Kaley ran into some of her friends. Kaley and her friends were running around playing games so they could win candy. They acted like it was the only candy they were going to get all day. I had to remind them how much candy they would be getting later.


Orey also got all dressed up for the festivities. Whenever I put clothes on Orey she looks at me with such humiliation. Although, when she has an outfit like this on she doesn't act like such a bad ass. It's like she knows she looks ridiculous.


So this is the neighborhood clan. Jake and his girlfriend Madison also decided to come along. Daddies took the kids Trick or Treating while the Mommies sat on the lawn drinking and passing out candy. Haha. Best Halloween yet!!


After a few pictures the Dragon escaped and found something much more interesting... mulch!!


Then she found the candy bucket.


Lily got to try her first candy, tootsie Pop. She ate the whole darn thing. She will never know how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop. She sucked it in about one minute. She even chewed on the stick after the Lolly was gone. Here is Grandma getting a kick out of torturing my poor little Dragon.


Then after all the candy they could eat they ended the night with some yummy Austin Pizza. What a fun Halloween! Till next year.

Pumpkin Patch

Our neighborhood had a Pumpkin Patch on Sunday, so we decided to get all the babies in their costumes and take some pictures. . Each pumpkin was $10 for charity and the kids got to paint them. Very cool. I don't think these pictures could have come out any better. Enjoy.

Orey was not too thrilled to be a pumpkin in 90 degree weather. Oh well it made for cute pictures.


Kaley painting her pumpkin. It turned out all different colors. It's our only Halloween decoration. Looks great on the front porch. She's very proud of it.

Gonzalez Gardens

Flo's dad plants a garden every summer that always produces the hottest peppers, the juiciest tomatoes and the most perfect potatoes. Among several other things. So this year we decided to give it a try. We planted tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, jalapenos, cilantro, basil, parsley, and cherry tomatoes. We started the garden in May and here it is in July:


We have had some luck with it. The cucumbers have done the best. Every once in awhile we get a tomato. The basil is flourishing and the cilantro was good while it lasted. It's a lot of fun checking the garden everyday to see what's growing. Plus the produce tastes so amazingly fresh.


We were very excited to find all these cucumbers in the garden when we got home from Oklahoma. The cucumbers have defiantly been our biggest success. We are averaging about a cucumber a day, sometimes two. They are so yum!


We are very proud of our petite garden, but it is nothing compared to the grow masters. This is Papa Gonzalez's SUPER garden. He grows just about everything in there. Next year we are going to expand and maybe someday ours will live up the master's.

Summer Road trip

We decided this year on our way to Oklahoma to visit the OK Gonzalez family that we would make a few stops along the way. We left on Sunday June 13th. First stop, the McGuires.


The McGuires live in Weatherford, Tx on a nice big piece of land. Flo has been friends with them since college and these are their two daughters. We got there Sunday afternoon, and as soon as we arrived Kaley put on her swimsuit and jumped in the pool. As you can see this family is very beautiful and tan, so I opted out of putting on my swimsuit and showing off my post pregnancy soft, white body. However, Kaley did not share my self consciousness and swam until about 10pm. Kaley and their youngest became good friends playing in the pool and looking through her extensive rock collection. In the morning we had some breakfast, Kaley swam again, and then we hit the road. Next stop...The Lemings.


The Lemmings of Sulphur, OK also have a lot of land and Orey made friends with their Boston Terrier and Pug. Flo and Mart have been friends since college and I met Ashley and Mart on our first date. Their son is almost two and knows all his sign language and Chickisaw. They are expecting their next boy in September. The Lemmings raise Buffalo and that night we had some Buffalo burgers. So yum. Much leaner than beef. Later Kaley asked me if the burger was one of the buffalos in the field. When I told her it was she said, "well that's sad," but she didn't seem to care when she was stuffing 2 burgers in her face.


The next day we all woke up and visited GW Exotic Zoo in Wynnewood,OK. We went there about 2 years ago and loved all the hundreds of Lions and Tigers and Ligers. Oh My!

I have never seen a white Peacock. He was walking around the park, hanging out. Pretty cool.


We watched this black bear slowly crawl into his tub. It was hot and he needed to cool off. Wish I could have gotten in there with him. After the animal park we headed north to Tulsa to stay with KK and Papa.



We stayed two nights with them, and every night Kaley would crawl up in her Grand Papa's lap and snuggle.


Kaley also loves her KK and so does Orey. KK and Papa were nice enough to Babysit K girl while Flo, Lily and I went out to In the Raw and ate some sushi with my college roommate.


Great Aunt Ellen also got her Lily fix.


As we were passing through Tulsa we stopped at Starbucks and Orey had her first Pup-a-chino. It's whipped cream, and she loved it! Now every time we go to Starbucks we have to get Orey and Kaley a Pup-a-chino. Next stop...Bartlesville, OK.

Gonzalez Crotch Cradle

Flo has always bragged about what his family calls the Gonzalez Crotch cradle. Peepa Gonzalez is the first to make the Gonzalez Crotch Cradle famous. There are pictures of him holding Flo in the cradle. And they defiantly have the right to brag because the famous crotch cradle defiantly works on our little Lily.


As soon as Daddy gets Lil in the GCC she is out. (This was before she was such a mommy's girl).




Orey even loves the GCC.


Kaley was also a fan. She's a little too old now for the GCC. That would just be, as Kaley always says, "that's weird."

Memorial Weekend

We had a really great weekend. We dog sat for mom and dad while they were at my cousin's wedding in Oklahoma. Which we were really bummed we missed, but we had a lot of fun with all the pups. Here's a picture of Roxanna in Orey's bed. Such a funny dog.


Friday we grilled out at the lake again and met some nice people that let Flo have a free for all on their keg. Then on Saturday we were again pool rats during the day and partiers at night. We ended the night at a party that had a rib cook off. Ribs are another one of Kaley's favorites. As you can see.


Memorial day Flo and Kaley went on a hike while Mom, Lily and I walked the neighborhood. Here's a picture of Kaley on her hike. haha


The rest of our day we spent at the pool where we grilled some hot dogs and hung out with Kimberly, Stefanie and our neighbors. They have a 5 year old boy who Kaley is really good friends with. Kaley had a blast swimming and Lily just chilled with mommy pool side.

A Half Naked Picnic

This is the beautiful view from the Seiner Ranch lake park. We went here last night to have a dinner picnic by the water.
We packed up our Costco Take and Bake Pizza, a salad and some cold drinks and headed to the end of our neighborhood for a good ol' fashion family picnic. Well, when we got there Flo took the first load in and walks back to me and says,"They have a photo shoot going on down there by the lake, but I didn't look." Not knowing what kind of photo shoot I said, "Oh cool."


This is what kind of photo shoot it was. This is the reason Flo quickly said he didn't look. haha. Yes the whole time during our wonderful family picnic a half naked woman was scantily posing for the camera by the lake, and she was not the only hazard. They also had a huge 100 pound plus male Pit Bull running around. And to top things off boaters kept driving by yelling things like, "I love your body. You are so HOT. Do you believe in love at first sight?" and other crude remarks at the woman.
Thank God Kaley thought nothing of it. When she asked if she could go swimming in the lake we pointed out the signs that said "No Swimming," and she said, "then why is that girl down there in her bikina?" (Not a misspelling that is actually how she said bikini.)


Overall it ended up being a pretty nice and interesting dinner. The lake is really pretty right now. Made us wish we had a boat. Of course before we left we made sure to put fliers to our church on all the photo shoot crew member's cars. The more the merrier.

Happy Mother's Day

Our Mother's Day started on Friday at Kaley's school. They held a Mother's Day Ice cream party. Right up my alley. Mom and I had ice cream with Kaley and her class, and I received a wonderful card with Kaley's picture on it. The ice cream, however, was not the best part about this day. The best part ended with mom puking in Kaley's lunch box. Let me explain: Before we left for the ice cream party Mom asked if she could have one of my pain pills from my C-section because she was having a lot of back pain. Well, I should have remembered that pain pills make mom very sick. So, on the way home from the party mom started getting very nauseous. Of course every time I pulled over to let her hurl she would feel better. And that's how it ended up in Kaley's lunchbox. Now if Kaley ever misses her Grandma at school she just takes a big whiff of her lunchbox.


On Sunday we started off by going to church. Since it was Mother's Day I dressed my babies in my new favorite color. This was the best picture I could get of them together. We had a wonderful morning at church volunteering. I am the Preschool Coordinator and Flo is an Usher. After church we met Mom, Dad and Jake at Iron Cactus for a delicious brunch where we all ate way too much, and Kaley ate twice as much as any of us. All you can eat Fajitas is dangerous for the K girl.

I just want to say thank you to all the wonderful Mommas in my life that have been such good examples and inspirations to me as a Mommy. You are all so loved and appreciated.

Cinco De Mayo

We had an eventful Cinco De Mayo here in the Gonzalez house. First off my little Lil turned 3 months today. I can't believe it's already been 3 months. She is smiling a lot and gets very excited when you pick her up. She loves her baths and still loves the Booby! She is sleeping 6 hours at night and eats about every 2 hours during the day. She has been such a dream and an answer to our prayers.


Next, we finally took Dixie up on her offer and joined her for lunch. Since it was Cinco De Mayo they were having Mexican food. I was a little worried about the food because last week Meatloaf was on the menu. I'm not a picky eater, but nursing home meatloaf does not sound like something I would want to try. Surprisingly the food was good. A little bland, but nothing a little Cholula couldn't fix. (I carry a bottle around in my purse just in case I have bland nursing home food for lunch).

Dixie was up to her usual self. Couldn't hear what we were saying and forgetting that we were eating with her on the way to the cafeteria. My favorite thing about Dixie is when she sees Lily. She kept looking up from her plate and saying, "Ohh look at that baby. Isn't she cute." Like it was the first time she had ever seen her. To her it probably was.

When we arrived to the nursing home Dixie was sitting next to a wonderfully entertaining woman named, Jean. Mom described her as a grumpy lady that tried to contain herself while we were there. haha. For example: Jean told us she wasn't hungry, but during lunch she kept complaining about them not getting her food out quick enough. Jean's memory was also fabulously escaping her. I know this because about every 3 minutes she would say, "That's a cute baby. How old is she?" Then she would say, "I have 6 of those, but they are grown now." Every time she told us how many children she had the number was different. Like I said, fabulously escaping her.


Lastly, The Gonzalez's took Kaley to her Elementary to register for Kindergarten next year. First off I can't believe she is going to be in Kindergarten. Crazy!!
When we walked in the door the ladies asked us what our girls names were. Kaley told them her name and her sister's name. One of the ladies complemented the names and said her Mommy and Daddy picked cute names. Kaley then went on telling them that when she was born it was only Mommy and her and that Daddy wasn't there. haha Can we say, embarrassing. She's a tell all kind of girl.
I wish I could go to this school. There were 5 desktop Mac computers in every classroom and traveling Mac laptops for every grade. Kids these days! Happy Cinco De Mayo!!

Brian and Brady Visit

This weekend Brian and Brady came to Austin to visit the Austin Reeves and Gonzalez crew. Kristin had to stay back in Nacogdoches to finish up some studying before finals. She was very missed.
We were so blessed to have the two babies together. They are both so perfect. You hardly heard a peep out of either of them. Unless someone is hungry.
Brady is losing his hair, but he is very precious. Especially when you can get him to smile. He's about twice the size of Lily and fits some 9 month clothes and his head probably weighs half his body weight. Lily is still in 0-3. My little petite girl.
It was a lot of fun watching Brian take care of his little man without his momma around. He is an excellent Daddy, and I am so proud of him.
On Saturday Flo and Brian played golf while Mom, Dad, Kaley, Lily, Braden and I went to a carnival and Costco. (We love going to Costco just for fun). Kaley had fun riding rides and hunting for Costco samples. You should have seen us in Costco. Let me just give you a visual: Dad was in the head of the line pushing a flat bed, Mom behind him with a basket, then Kaley pushing Brady's stroller and I as the caboose pushing Lily's stroller. We were a sight to see. Luckily the babies slept the whole time. Flo adds that he whipped Brian in golf and shot a birdie on the first hole. An Eventfull Wedding

So this was the beginning of our wedding trip to Kerrville. They asked Kaley to be a flower girl and Flo to be a Groomsman. I was very nervous about Kaley standing still during the ceremony. Well, Kaley did AWESOME. She looked beautiful and did her duties as a flower girl very well. However, since we are Gonzalez we can't go anywhere without making a scene. It all started at George Straight's restaurant in San Antonio where the rehearsal dinner was. When the Bride and Groom gave Flo a gift I began pulling out the tissue paper and tossed a piece onto a candle. When I looked up I saw that our table was in flames. OOPS! I didn't know what to do, and Flo couldn't help me because he was holding Lily. Finally two ladies pounded out the flames. We were left with ashes all over us and our table. S0 embarrassing. All I could do is laugh.

But that's not where the embarrassment ends. The day of the wedding I was sitting in the car while the girls slept. I was holding Lily in my lap when I hear the most horrifying sound occur in her diaper. When I got up to change her I felt something dripping down my leg. I looked down to find yellow poo running down my white dress. Sorry for the graphic image, but it was gushing out. I have never seen anything like it. Luckily Flo walks out, and I just start laughing. We then worked together to get her wiped down on a park bench. Poor baby laid naked on a park bench drenched in yellow Poo. I ended up having to put on the same dress I wore the night before to the rehearsal dinner. Again... embarrassing!!! Later a lovely older women told me, "Oh honey they won't remember that you wore the same thing twice, they will remember you for setting the table on fire." Oh Brother! Can't take us anywhere.

This is Us

So this is us. First post here we go: I wanted to start this Blog first because my best friend Leah basically begged me. She may be the only one that reads it because apparently she's pretty bored at work, but I also wanted to start it because I want to get away from the whole Facebook thing because really all those people don't need to know our business. However, I do still want my family and close friends to get updates from us. So Gonzalez Confessions was created. I've decided there will be a few categories for my Blog posts, one will be updates on our family, another will be updates on our Lily and the last will be called Confessions of a Bored Housewife. Now this last one will basically be how Meghan Gonzalez, a housewife, mother of 2 girls, Christian, Republican sees life. Finally, a forum for me to vent! haha. I may also get a little bit of Working Daddy Confessions in too. I will have to work on that one. Ok well come back often and I hope you enjoy!! Love you all! ~Meghan
